Enterprise Software History

Open Source ERP product from the company formally known as OpenMFG, now xTuple. In July of 2007, OpenMFG released PostBooks as a subset of the original application, targeted at those companies that were either light manufacturing or non-manufacturing. Postbooks is an Fully Open Source Software product, available today via SourceForge ([1]) and GitHub. The product is free for those who need four users or less. Licensing applies to use over four concurrent users. PostBooks is a mature, complete ERP solution that utilizes widely used Open Source technologies including the PostgreSQL database ([[2]]) and the Qt development framework from Qt Software. PostBooks shares a code base with the xTuple commercial offerings which allows for customers of the PostBooks product to upgrade to the Manufacturing Standard, or Enterprise Edition, should they need the more advanced manufacturing functionality.
